Beware of the URL bug in 8.5.2 and how to avoid it.
As I wrote in my blog the other day there is a URL bug in 8.5.2.
It seems the problem is that !opendatabase does not work in 8.5.2.
This has given me problems in several of my websites,
Normally you would for public web sites set the Domino server to use ! in URL command instead of ?.
The ? has a special meaning in a URL which (in the old days at least) would confuse search engines when hitting a Domino URL.
So IBM came up the idea of using ! in the URL instead.
This only required a different setting in the Internet Site document.
Setting "Make this site..." to enabled would allow domino to use ! instead in the URL.
However since !opendatabase does not work in Domino 8.5.2 you need to disable this to stay out of trouble for now as a work around
UPDATE
Just found out ...I can not just disable it since a lot of my websites are not working if I turn it of.
Domino will not only use ? instead... but completely reject the use of !... crap..
